MBAD6063 Legal Issues of Executive Management

Course Description:
The course is designed to give business students a practical understanding of law and government regulation, and how laws and regulations are developed and applied. Emphasis is on the legal system as a whole rather than on specific laws, although the focus is on laws that effect business decisions. Students are expected to leave the course with the knowledge to recognize potential legal issues and problems. The goal is for students to know when to seek professional legal advice.

Course Objectives:
Individual faculty members set course objectives consistent with the content overview contained in the “Course Description” and with departmental learning objectives that students completing the course is designed for business managers to become aware of the legal and regulatory environment in which they conduct business activities. The purpose is to familiarize the student with the applicable law in the business world. Issues related to government regulation of business (the public law) will be emphasized because these legal theories have brought expanded rights to employees, consumers, investors and others.
